Denmark has been a part of KFOR from the very beginning.

The Danish effort in the Sahel region contributes to the fight against terrorism in order to ensure stability in the region. Since the conflict began in 2012, Denmark has supported this fight with military contributions in Mali and the Sahel region several times. Denmark has contributed together with international partners and through the Peace and Stabilisation fund.

Denmark continues to support the global coalition's fight against ISIS

Since 2008, when the threat of piracy in East Africa was at its highest, Denmark has made significant contributions to the international efforts to counter piracy and enhance maritime safety off the coast of the Horn of Africa and in the Gulf of Guinea.

NATO’s mission in Iraq is focused on supporting Iraq in reforming the Iraqi security sector and capacity building of the Iraqi security forces.

Denmark has since 2004 contributed with fighter aircraft in support of NATO Air Policing.

NATO's enhanced Forward Presence (eFP), in the Baltic States and Poland was decided by the heads of states and governments at the NATO Summit in Warsaw in 2016.

Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, was established in 2005 and is an essential part of EU’s ability to safeguard the area of freedom, security, and justice on EU’s outer boarders.

The engagement of the Danish Armed Forces in Africa is based on the African states’ own wish for assistance in order to increase their capacity to handle conflicts and ensure stability.

The purpose of the mission is to protect the freedom of navigation, ensure coordination between parties in the area and contribute to the de-escalation by diplomatic and military presence.

On February 24 2022 Ukraine was invaded by Russia. Since day one, Denmark has been cooperating closely with allied and partner countries to be among the frontrunners when it comes to supporting Ukraine. This support has included weapons, equipment, materiel, as well as military training.
