Our communication policy covers the entire combine of the Ministry of Defence. One of its principles is that communication is an integral part of any problem solving
Communication policy for the realm of the Ministry of Defence
The responsibilities of the realm of the Ministry of Defence affect many people in their everyday life. Among those are the abt. 20,000 employees, the Danish population and the population in the countries where we perform our international tasks. This means that many people take an interest in what we do.
A dynamic task performance is therefore imperative – including securing efficient communication in relation to the surrounding world as well as within our system.
A joint communication policy
To meet these demands we have established a joint policy for the way we wish to communicate with the surrounding world, between the agencies, and internally within each agency. We focus on four strategic areas: internal communication, cooperation with external media, crisis communication and the internet.
The communication policy applies to the entire realm – and thus to all pertaining agencies in the field of responsibility of the Ministry of Defence.
Some of the agencies have established their own policies or strategies in this area.
Principles for good communication
We have decided on six principles for how we want to communicate:
- We maintain an active dialogue
- We are open
- We are offensive
- We are credible
- We are comprehensible
- Communication is an integral of any problem-solving
