The previous danish effort in the Central African Republic

In 2014, Denmark contributed to the United Nations Peacebuilding Office in the Central African Republic, called BINUCA, and to the establishment of an actual UN peacekeeping mission. The Danish contribution consisted of a C-130 transport aircraft together with approximately 60 personnel. The aircraft contribution included pilots, other crew members, technicians, other support personnel, and liaison officers.

On the 10th of April 2014 the Danish Parliament decided, that the Danish Hercules C130J aircraft carrier that was deployed to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali also would support BINUCA; a field office of the Department of Political Affairs, which operates under a mandate from the Security Council to help consolidate peace and foster national reconciliation.
